Waste Removal Bow Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Waste Removal Bow takes to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implement effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not occur in any part of our business.
Zero-Tolerance Policy
Waste Removal Bow has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. We will not knowingly work with any organisation that does not share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. This position applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers and any other business partners acting on our behalf.
All managers are responsible for promoting this zero-tolerance culture within their teams and ensuring that our standards are understood and followed. Where we identify any breach, or potential breach, of our policy, we will take prompt and decisive action, which may include suspension or termination of contracts and reporting concerns to the relevant authorities.
Our Operations and Supply Chain
Waste Removal Bow provides waste management, collection and disposal services. Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, equipment, fuel, uniforms, personal protective equipment, recycling facilities and subcontracted labour. We recognise that risks of modern slavery can arise in sectors such as logistics, cleaning, manufacturing and agency labour, and we actively monitor these areas.
We expect every supplier and subcontractor to operate transparently, to pay fair wages, to provide safe working conditions and to comply fully with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws in the jurisdictions in which they operate.
Due Diligence and Supplier Audits
We conduct due diligence on new and existing suppliers that are considered to be higher risk. This due diligence may include reviewing company policies, requesting written confirmations of compliance with modern slavery legislation and assessing the use of subcontractors or agency workers.
Where appropriate, we carry out supplier audits, either directly or through competent third parties. These audits may involve site visits, document checks and interviews with management and workers to confirm that employment is freely chosen, that workers have the right to leave, and that no fees or unlawful deductions are imposed as a condition of employment.
If an audit or review reveals concerns, we work with the supplier to develop an improvement plan with clear timescales. If satisfactory progress is not made, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Waste Removal Bow encourages all employees, suppliers and other stakeholders to raise any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices at the earliest opportunity. Concerns can be reported directly to line managers, to the senior management team or to a designated compliance contact within the business.
We treat all reports seriously and, where possible, confidentially. We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. Every report is assessed, investigated as appropriate and, if necessary, escalated to external agencies or law enforcement.
Training and Awareness
We provide training and guidance to relevant employees to help them identify the signs of modern slavery and understand how to respond to concerns. This includes staff involved in procurement, contract management and site supervision, who are more likely to encounter potential risks in the supply chain or in day-to-day operations.
Our modern slavery commitments are included in our induction materials, and key policies are regularly communicated to staff to reinforce expectations and responsibilities.
Monitoring and Annual Review
We are committed to continuous improvement in preventing modern slavery. Our senior management team reviews the effectiveness of our measures at least once a year, taking into account any incidents reported, audit findings, changes in legislation and feedback from stakeholders.
This Statement will be updated annually to reflect our progress, any enhancements to our systems and controls, and any changes in our operations or risk profile. By reviewing this Statement each year, Waste Removal Bow ensures that our approach remains robust, relevant and aligned with best practice in the fight against modern slavery and human trafficking.
